The first photo of spring? I sure hope so. Full-sized photo here.
It’s been winter for a very long time here in DC, but a rush of warmer weather has inspired people and plants to embrace spring. This tree clearly has on the plant equivalent of a sundress and sandals.

I’ve always loved being near the water, and beaches especially. Right now I’m standing out on Dewey Beach even though it’s a bit windy and a bit chilly. Just being out here — weather and all — has a way of revitalizing the spirit. Though I can’t wait to be at the beach when it’s warm.

Today’s photo of the day involved me yelling, “Play Free Bird!”

Photo number 83, taken yesterday. Inching closer and closer to photo 100. Are you as curious as I am to find out what I take a picture of that day? The full photo is here, and below is the description.
This is my fifth year in my apartment. For me, that’s practically a life time since I lived in Boston, LA, Chicago, with brief stints in Philly and NYC during and after college. So, when I say they’ve been working on my apartment building forever, you know what I mean. Frankly, I’m tried of it. This particular sign gives warning to the guys who are doing masonry work on the outside of the building. That masonry work has created a lot of dust, some of which has made it into my apartment.

Photo 82 in my photo of the day project. Spotted this guy painting the waterfront in Old Town, Alexandria while I was out and about for lunch. Wanted to get a bit closer to him, but alas, all I had on me was my iPhone and it doesn’t exactly have a zoom. You can see this photo and the rest of the photos on my Flickr account.

Fun mashup of will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” and Rep. John Boehner yelling “No You Can’t.”

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Probably the single greatest bio-pic never to be made. But oh would I pay good money to see it.

Today’s photo of the day is of a Cadillac CTS. Earlier in the decade GM’s “luxury” brand started to reinvent itself moving away from the image of your grandfather’s car to one that can compete with the likes of BWM, Audi, and Lexus. Now, they’re not there yet, but honestly, the CTS is one of the sexiest sedans on the road right now and it’s hot sibling, the CTS-V, is faster than the BMW M3 around the Nurburgring. You can see the photo on Flickr here.

Moved

I’m revamping my blog, and the first step is I’m moving off of the BetweenElse Tumblr account. For those of you who visit me via Doorley.org, you’ll notice no change. For those of you who’ve followed me on Tumblr, check out “cdoorley” and follow me there now.

Thanks!

The first photo in Project C.365’10, a personal photo project. One photo a day taken that day every day for each day of 2010. This is photo 001, a picture of my first cup of tea for the year. Green tea, if you’re so inclined. You can follow the photo stream on Flickr here.
